Consortium

The partnership is composed of 5 entities from four countries – Romania, Germany, Bulgaria and Greece, each with its specific tasks and level of implication.

Each of the partners has an extensive knowledge in organizing and managing EU affairs related projects, with a clear focus on public communication, engage actively in key political issues and dialogue and awareness activities. More so, each partner is a leading organization in the country/region, with a remarkable track record on activities related to democratic engagement and civic participation.   

THE ROMANIAN CENTER FOR EUROPEAN POLICIES (BUCHAREST, ROMANIA)

Founded in Bucharest in 2009, CRPE is one of the most experienced think tanks operating in the Central and Eastern Europe, a leading forum for debate for CEEC and EaP countries (focused especially on Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia) on EU affairs, reform of the judiciary and civic engagement.

The programs implemented by CRPE focus on several major objectives:

  • Strengthening citizen participation in the EU decision-making process by supporting informed dialogue and debate;
  • Initiating projects meant to encourage debates on European and Romanian public policies;
  • Capacity building on European issues and publishing studies, research papers and analysis on EU and EU-related policies;
  • Initiating advocacy campaigns for good governance at the EU level.

CRPE has published over 150 policy papers and has successfully implemented over 50 projects. CRPE is the only Romanian think tank of the prestigious Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA).

INTER ALIA (ATHENS, GREECE)

Inter Alia is a private, not-for-profit organization based in Athens, active in the fields of education, youth work and culture that aims to: 


* Promote and enhance civic action and civil society’s interconnectedness and effectiveness in influencing decision-making at any level;
* Empower youth and increase employment opportunities through training, skills  development, and civic and social participation;
* Confront interpersonal and intergroup stereotypes and enhance intercultural understanding inside and outside the perceived limits of Europe as a means to peace and well-being.

Inter Alia has initiated or is actively involved in numerous and diverse civic initiatives throughout Europe and beyond. It leads a European network of 60 organisations active in the field of youth. Inter Alia is among the founders of the Greek Association of Youth Workers and is affiliated to the Citizens for Europe Network, the Anna Lindh Foundation Greek National Network, the Greek-German youth forum, the CSC European Network.

INSTITUT FUR EUROPAISCHE POLITIK EV (BERLIN, GERMANY)

Since its founding in 1959, the Institute for European Politics (IEP) has been a non-profit organization dedicated to the study of European integration. It is one of the leading foreign and European policy research centres in the Federal Republic of Germany and serves as a forum for exchange between academia, politics, administration and political education. The IEP’s mission is to apply scholarly research to issues of European politics and integration, propose ways forward and promote the practical implementation of its research findings.

With its project „The Truth about Lies on Europe” (http://trulies-europe.de/), IEP brings out the prejudices in the German debate on Europe and checks the arguments of Eurosceptics for their truthfulness. It aims to rationalize the debate on Europe with the help of a systematic and analytically grounded deconstruction of false claims, bogeymen, and prejudices.

RISKMONITOR FOUNDATION (SOFIA, BULGARIA)

RiskMonitor is a non-profit, non-governmental public policy institute working for the reduction, control and prevention of organized crime and high-level political and institutional corruption. RiskMonitor develops independent civic expertise in the sphere of policies countering organized crime and institutional corruption, and strengthening civil society, civic participation and more.

RiskMonitor’s mission is to define and respond to risks to the democratic public processes and a threat to the liberal democratic polity, its public institutions as well as the overall development of open society in the post-transition context.

RiskMonitor was founded at the end of 2006 by the Open Society Institute – New York and the Open Society Institute – Sofia, and is registered as a public benefit foundation.

THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF POLITICAL STUDIES AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (BUCHAREST, ROMANIA)

The National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (NUPSPA) is a public institution of higher education and research. Its main objective is to form and develop professional competences in the area of political, administrative, social and economic science thus contributing to changes and developments at national and international level in the spirit of democratic values and principles and openness to European cooperation. With more than 20 years of experience in the process of teaching and learning, the university values the importance of training specialists in European Studies by providing courses such as EU Institutions, EU Law or EU Policies.

The NUPSPA is the leading university of applied social sciences in Romania and offers a wide range of courses on EU-related issues and has a very well trained teaching staff covering all aspects of the European Integration process (legal, political, social and economic).
